    Expert Advice

    Hi,

Just had a thought. If any of you Actinic Masters out there have enough time on your hands, what about making a sort of 'Actinic Tips Supplement' just talking about things you've done in Actinic, what they do, how they helped and how to do them. Be good for us who are starting out on the road to creating custom sites (as well as those who just use it normally but want to add that something extra).

It's a big ask I know but I've noticed that a lot of you spend a lot of time on the forum so time must not be completely strapped!

Just one I thought I'd throw into the ring.

    Scott.

The forum is a gold mine for assistance, but there is also the Advanced User Guide, which has some of the best larger bits/hacks added to it from that provided in this forum and elsewhere. It is available for download from within the download section of the Actinic website, and is a good source for how to's on a number of things.

I've got that, and I use the forum all the time. I was just thinking that there must be so many other modifications made (including ones that people like me might never have thought of searching for in the forum) that it might be worth making a monthly newsletter kind of thing.

Still, more of a thought than a request.

      Scott.

          ok bait accepted...

if this is something you want Scott I suggest you set the ball rolling .... rather than expect those of us with to much time on our hands to do it for you...

there must be truth in the saying, if you want something done, then ask a busy person

I'm very sorry, honestly didn't mean to insult any of you.

I guess any future requests for help will be ignored now.

              Regards,

              Scott.

Now THAT is insulting. There is absolutely no reason for that statement. Each of us may individually have people we would rather not respond to, but as a community, those preferences are always balanced by another helpful community member.

Yeah you're right, it was a silly thing to type. A bit over-senstitive probably. Not having the best of days, feeling ill, being sick, get a badly bruised leg. It all adds up.

I was just trying to not cause offence, it was not at all in my mind when I began this thread as I hope you can see. I was just trying to backtrack on what I said as I didn't mean to annoy anyone.

I'm afraid my participation in these forums is all take, take, take at the moment as I'm not very experienced with the programme (under 2 months) but I do hope to be able to give something back one day. I've tried here and there already.

I'll leave it there unless anyone want a more personal apology, which I would be willing to give, by the way.

                  Scott.

                    Dont worry about it Scott.

It is easy to forget that the "experts" who are on here more than they should be are all doing replies and advice through unpaid goodwill and with no association with Actinic ... all have their own sites selling either products or services and probably come on here for a respite from the daily grind above anything else.

As pointed out above the forum already contains a mass of info and tips and tricks from over the years - far more than could be realistically created in a suppliment.

As Bill says - someone will always try and answer your specific questions and unless you personally attack someone you wont get blacklisted.

Hope you are feeling better soon

There is one thing that could be done to make it easier for new as well as experienced users

That is to have a new forum page with a list of add-ons and where to get further details i.e.

                      Dynamis Images,
                      Brief description
                      contact Norman Rouxel,

Scott - my post (#4) above didn't exactly help either. Sorry about that.
