    Banner Exchange Programs

    Hi everybody

we are thinking to join a few banner exchange programs (the free ones) which have some decent exchange ratios (4:3).

has anybody else used any of these programs?

    any bad experiences?

Anything that offers the customer a choice of leaving your site to go to another is bad, with the exception of Links which are normally placed out of the way so people have to look for them.

      Morning Chris

I know what you mean. however my site is new with very small traffic and i want to inrease my visitors.

at a later stage, when i am satisfied with my traffic the banners will be taken off and replaced with things that i want to have in there.

Have a look at Google adwords

If you set things up with a low daily limit and a very low click through charge say !.50 per day and 0.08 per click you will find you start to get a lot more traffic

I also believe they also assist in getting you on the natural listings but have no proofe of this

Games are a popular choice for web sites, so you need to optimise your site for your products as the main effort on yourself

Banners may bring in the odd person but much more likely to send your customers away to another site with no obviouse way back, so to keep the hard won customers with you dont advertise anyone else.

Other ways include google froogle and a few other free advertising methods that can be found by searching the forum

After looking at your site you appear to have very poor resolution images especially on your home page and lots of image not available, (this just shows you do not have the games in stock as why else would you not have the image.)

          Hi Chris

          thanks again for your reply.

I have already started a campaign in adwords and also i have added my products in froogle. (i have already seen an increase in traffic).

i know the problem of the images. i am trying very hard to find the images that i am missing and also change the poor quality ones (blurred) which i messed them up.

I am only using official packshots as the product images and that is my problem at present.

          thanks for the comments anyway.

Try and get some banner advertising on games forums, and submit games reviews to other sites, genberally get your name known within gaming websites
