Webalisizer Vs awstats

Hi

we have both packages available from our host for the visit info that we want.

however the visits per day are drastically different

any reason for this?

Webalyser stats are inflated by lumping spider visits with real visitors, awstats is more sophisicated and shows them separately

I never bother with the webalizer stats any more - the AWSTATS provides a much more detailed account of what is happening, especially for a free package. I now rarely even bother to use SawMill since my host installed AWSTATS
