    Removing Text from an Image

I've got Paint Shop Pro 7 and even struggle to understand the basics but what i'd like to do is remove the text from the image below and replace it with different text. Or maybe even just use one of the balloons.

If anyone has any experience of PSP7 and can give me a quick idiots guide to doing the above it would be very much appreciated.

And what also save me any more wasted hours

Left of picture looks like a real handful
Right of picture looks like the boss
            Centre of picture looks knackered

            Nice pic Peter

Right then. I've been trying to put text over Jont's image from nearly 3 hours with no success.

So i've pinched some text from one of my existing sites and put it next to the balloons, trying to create a new "Buy Now / Add to Basket" button

              Attached image shows;

              - my logo
              - my existing button
              - my new button

                    Pete,

I use PSP a lot. A few suggestions on what you needed to perform these operations:

                    Removing the old text:
This is just airbrushing - use the dropper to pick up existing colours. Also, learn to love the clone brush - it is your friend.

                    Adding new text:
In your example, the text is just another image, so your need to set the transparency value to the text image's current background colour.
This makes the background transparent, so you can copy the text image and paste it (as a new layer) onto the ballon image.
As a new layer, the text can them be moved around on top of the ballons until the positioning is satisfactory.

                      Thank you Alan

I'll try it using your instructions.

Help pages are all well and good, but if it's an idiots guide you're after........

I find that trick with help pages is knowing what to look for.
For the above example, look for 'transparency'.
