    Card Payments

    Hi all

we have recently started attending PC Fairs to see whether our products will sell (and make a bit of extra profit while getting rid of stock)

we had few people asking to pay by card (although most pay by cash)

can i ask where can u get a machine that takes card payments, what is the cost & exactly how they work

If the fair offers an open wireless network connection, and you are a Protx customer, you can use your virtual terminal for occassional offline orders like this. If it is becoming a major part of your business, then you would need to talk to your acquiring bank (the one that issued your merchant account number) about getting one of their terminals.

These work the same as the checkout in your local supermarket, you swipe the card and it connects over the phone line to the acquiring bank computer system. The customer inputs their PIN and you get the response.

Or if no wifi then a bluetooth connection from your laptop to your mobile phone will work fine too for the odd sales on the go.
