    Postage & Packing

I posted a thread earlier today about Royal Mail and got lots of good replies. Many thanks to all those who contributed, many of whom seem to have a lot more experience of web biz than I, so let me see if I can draw on your experience again....

What say you to the merits of having prices on your websites that include P&P verses charging for P&P as an extra?

Has anyone been running their website charging P&P and then changed their pricing structure to include P&P as part of the price? (or visa versa) If so was it good, bad or neutral for business?

    Many thanks

    one simple bit of advice,
look at what your competitors are doing"
its no good adding in the cost of P and P if all the competitors quote ex-vat - you will look expensive and start to lose orders.

if the competitors inc p&p, do the same

It also depends on what you sell. I expect most orders to have 3-5 different items in them so including P+P in each would be a waste of time.

The only time I'd include P+P was if I was selling large items in one off quantities and could call it "free delivery".
