    1and1 email service

Anyone else having email issues with 1and1?
Support say they're working in the problem but it's been three days now.

Mine seems to have been fine except for the very occasional connection refusal. What kind of problems are you getting?

I'm timing out on various accounts when doing a send/receive. No consistency, different accounts, not every time I update. Mails being recieved out of order. To be honest I had put it down to the local connection problems I had been having which are now thankfully resolved.

Some of my accounts are fine but two of my main accounts are regularly getting connection problems - and when connecting the response is very slow and often timeout. I've put a redirect on my main account and this goes through quickly which helps.

The emails are getting repeated and are out of sequence. Looks like they're throttling the connections. My spam has almost dried up (for a change) - maybe they were being hit hard by spammers again.

Same here for 3 days now. I use 2 email accounts and they both perform intermittently when receiving.

Yep same here - has been a complete nightmare what with that and the Paypal problems we've had (now sorted thanks to Froogle).

We've diverted our main account and now seem to be getting our mail ok but we're still getting messages delayed on our other account - got one from Monday earlier this morning!

We called 1&1 on Tuesday night and they hoped it'd be sorted by 10am yesterday..................still waiting

Ditto for 1&1 email accounts - intermittent / delayed service since Monday.

Normally we have no problems with 1&1 but two weeks ago our FTP program and Actinic Network settings which had worked fine for five years stopped working without warning and we were unable to connect to our website to upload files or download orders.

We believe that that 1&1 had upgraded their software (no notification to us) and we only managed to fix it when we changed from yourdomain.co.uk to ftp.yourdomain.co.uk and yourdomain.co.uk/acatalog/ to http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/acatalog/ etc.

I know that the settings originally were not perhaps as they should have been defined correctly but they had worked since we first set up the website back in 2001. A lot of head-scratching went in before we resolved it

Friday now and a not very encouraging report on The Register - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/01...ers/page2.html

I think that the worst seems to be over with mine. I still have access problems occasionally and it's slow but does seem to be gradually getting back to normal. About time mind...
