Is it just me, or are suppliers getting a bit more jumpy about being paid quickly, even BT seem to be fretting these days.

its all to do with cost cutting and therefore being competitive IMO
the less you spend on getting money in and the quicker you can do it means you can shave prices to the end customer.
Its one of those things that I have been observing recently - and is becoming a pet topic for me, this relentless drive that we as consumers demand, to getting everything as cheap as possible..... it all comes at a price
political soapbox over now

Originally posted by jontI can see a position soon where offering 30 days credit is going to be a massive feature as promoted by suppliers.
On the flip side, we recently had a commercial customer's accounts department on the phone demanding to pay for an order which we hadn't received yet - the order didn't arrive from that company for another five days.

Two of my suppliers now offer 4% extra for paying on receipt of goods.
One of them, supplier A, takes credit card payment *and* gives the 4% - and as I have remaining 6 months of a 9 months interest free on purchases card between the 2 I'm doing OK on margin for supplier A.Miranda Stamp
