Dedicated Hosting Recommendations?

Hi

I am currently on Claranet but this month I will be moving to a dedicated hosting package.

Can anyone recommend the best package/company? At the moment I am swaying towards Pinbrook but I would appreciate any other recommendations.

I am looking for one SEO safe - e.g. not using IP ranges that Google wouldnt like - preferably using IP ranges that Google really likes! If you get good search rankings and have a dedicated package can you recommend it?

I am also looking a good level of customer services - Claranet were poor.

Any recommendations welcomed!

As with anything in life you get what you pay for and the first question I would ask is "what is your budget for this transition".

IF I was to propose such a move to a client, I would strongly advise to use a direct hosting supplier rather than a reseller for various reasons namely support reaction times, server management levels and issue resolution.

To this end, we are looking into a dedicated server in the summer and we have no hesitation in recommending Techno Web/4 Sure.

They custom build your server to YOUR requirements, not off the shelf bulk resell packs, they offer fantastic scaleable solutions, these servers are managed comprehensively (or you can manage it yourself) they have (IMHO) unrivalled service levels, are tip top Actinic experts and above all else, should you have any issues or concerns you can talk to the main man who has a wealth of experience and great support back up by the team (heads up Ian, I mean you....)

It ain't cheap, but give them a call Monday, you will see what I mean.

We have used them now for many years and have experienced no downtime to speak of in 26months (could be longer....) so we know them well and this has been a massive benefit to our many Actinic clients whom we host.

Oh, and just in case you are wondering, we make NO PROFIT from recommending this dedicated server service at all...this is purely a satisfied B2B user who thinks they are the bees knees

Just to clarify....my comments are based on my companies experience. There is no implication that the service offered by other hosts are inferior in anyway.

For a balanced view, I have also heard good things in the industry about Griffin (direct) and Heartinternet (a reseller poss)

We have a pinbrook dedicated server - the nice thing about them is that you get a control panel, so it is as easy to manage as standard hosting but it's much faster, there are no bandwidth issues and no sharing issues. We are very happy with it.

I have opted for Pinbrook. Should have a new server next week.
