Nearly fell off my perch reading the local paper - they're advertising for smoking inspectors already at ridiculous salaries, obviously to go round jumping on local fine ale establishments and other businesses.
It begs the question, what if you're not open to the public but all members of staff smoke? You're not "offending" anybody after all.
What if you sit in the lovely new "enclosed outdoor area" of your local pub (provided for smokers at great expense to the publican) but the windows/doors of the pub are open cos it's summer and it's hot, and your smoke blows into the pub? Is that an Act of God?
