Guide to Small Buiness Accounts - Book recommendations

    Hi,

The accounting for my new business has got my head all in a spin and its clear that I need a book that can tell me whats what.

Can anyone recommend a good book for a small VAT registered business using sage instant accounts 12. A don't need a guide for sage. I need a guide for general accounting, how its done and why.

Any help on this i will be very grateful.

Your best bet is to nip down to wh smiths and have a look at their selection as there is so many its hard to say what type you would like

Under the scholar section you will also find another selection

Last but one of the most useful is the yearly financial book issued by Lloyds tsb and some other banks, I think you can buy them at the bank or get one free if you blag it out you want to change banks

      Thanks Chris,

I think I will take your advice. I was browsing through amazon and nothing appealed to me. There is something to be said for traditional bricks and mortar shops!

I like this little book from the Chartered Management Institute
Bookkeeping and Accounting in a Week by Roger Mason ISBN0-340-84961-4 £6.99
Very concise and to the point, it clearly explains the facts, and how things work in the world of accounting, and in plain English.
