    Copyright and publishing written material

I'm working on a small project of my own which should result in the publication of a product which consists almost entirely of written material. What do I have to do to claim copyright? I was going to put the standard Copyright 2007 <name> at the bottom of each page, but do I need to use that strange phrase you see in the front of books: "The author has exerted his moral right..."

as far as I know, copywrite is an automatic thing. You wrote it, you own the copywrite. putting messages on the work saying "its my copywrite" is great but unless you've got the bite to follow up infringements, then copywrite becomes another phrase.

    You don't say the medium.
If its a PDF file, consider watermarking and disabling the print and the save options. Having said that, Its too easy to capture the screen, paste, print the image, OCR the results and then have the text.

How are you releasing the work?

Printed paper. I might consider a PDF download.
