I have had a problem on the site and tried a snapshot, found it had the same problem and had to go back a few months before i had a good site again
I know you should check the snapshots but with 7 sites and limited time and always something to do, I didn't and glad disk space is not a problem and on dvd you might as well copy a few snapshots as it does not take up much time
It would be of great advantage if actinic used a more modern copy of winzip so we could look into the snapshots, if anyone has a old copy that works I would appreciate a copyChris Ashdown

And just where are Wednesday's and Fursdays tips?
Well?
Just how are we supposed to concentrate while working when we are waiting for the golden email saying this threads been updated?
It was my birthday on Wednesday and did I get a card from any of you lot? No. A cheeky wee email saying "Happy Birthday"? No.
Didn't happen back in the days of v7 or the blitz I tell ya.

Friday's tip - don't rely on CDs/DVDs over five years old for essential backups - the data surface (which is on the top, not the bottom) can degrade. I recently put a small post it note on an old CD to remind me to look at the contents - when I pulled the note off the data surface was so weak it came off too
I agree with Mal - much better these days to use an external drive.

When opening a banana, don't attack the obvious end (the stalk), it is far easier to peel a banana from the opposite end.

This is a bit mean..... most service industries pay very low as they expect staff to make up the difference with tips.
Thus you should consider always tipping unless you get bad service.
As many of you know I spend alot of time in South Africa, here it is the norm to tip all the time, many jobs do not pay at all, all the staff get is tips. Waiting Staff, petrol pump attendands and Car guards are examples of tip only jobs.

If everyone stopped tipping then the managers would be forced to give them a living wage
The whole thing on tipping is how selective it is
we have a neighbour and he drives 110 miles down to London where he works on the taxi ranks and then comes home for a few days off, why should we tip him he is obvously on a good wage,
You may buy a barman a drink sometimes but not on every occassion and he/she talks to you all night if they feel like it but if you have a quick snack in the bar at the tables then you are expected to leave a tip or pay a service charge, why one and not the other?Chris Ashdown
