The up side is she bought me the tickets for Muse at Manchester 18 years later to say sorry.

I was in the pub a few weeks back and the others were all talking about the really <insert appropriate word here> festivals they had lined up, had to admit that I only had a cub camp lined up (although they did apparently have a band, I missed it due to have to stay in the marquee and drink whilst my child slept), said it made me feel really old, Chris however, pointed out that even when I was younger I probably didn't go either and he was right.

The last famous person I saw live though was Paul McCartney (he was very small as I remember rightly due to being a very long way away), the band I enjoyed seeing most were the Fine Young Cannibals.

I was going to say something about seeing Tracey perform but I better not.

I've often gone to a gig to `keep someone happy` and my diverse list includes Bananarama, A-ha and Man2Man (remember 'em, Male Stripper?).

A trip with a mate to see Sinita resulted in some of my desirable record collection getting damaged by Mrs G, so better not mention that event.

I wish i was old enough to have seen Mr Sinatra, i really like his music. Worst concert ever ever ever ever ever ever was UB40, biggest load of crap i've ever seen in my life. Take That were entertaining too.

Best has got to be David Bowie - only seen him twice unfortunately.

Scariest - The Stranglers - it was the first gig they did in the UK after being imprisoned in France for inciting a riot!

For pure showmanship - Barry Manillow at the London Palladium - wouldn't have ever thought about going to see him but was doing a concert for a charity worked for and got a freebee.

Sting was pretty amazing - especially when he took his shirt off

Best gig ever, and there have been many since, was back in the dim and distant past of 1969.

I did a school exchange with a lad from Sweden and I thought I would impress him with tickets to the Pop Proms at the Albert Hall to see The Who and Chuck Berry with Kieth Moon doing drums for CB! But lo the Stones played Hyde Park that afternoon!

Sadly missed Mick and the boys at IOW.

REM supported by Blur and I think Cranberries amonst others at the Milton Keynes Bowl 1995, and getting paid for it!! Brother in Law got me a job in the beer tent and managed to slope off after an hour or so so got to see most of the days bands.
Also got to work as security at the beer tent for Bon Jovi in 96, music was pretty garb but it being a hot day and all that there was a fair bit of exposed (female) flesh on show . Got a rollicking for letting the good looking lasses through ahead of the blokes.

LOL Alistair - don't mention the grockles they are here but will get overrun with them once school hols start! Actually there is more to do in Selsey than most places I know - for a village/small town it's got a hell of a lot going on! Including the 3 week festival in August.
