mine struggles... my new one I upgraded to 1024 and it's much much better. My 512 really struggled just running my catalog/mole/emails etc.. I've just got it back from repair actually so I'm going to use it to tinker with a new V8 design....maybe...lol

i picked a new laptop from dell the 6400 models seem to be the better for screen size spec and cost.
came with 2gb ram and the choice of either vista or XP plus all the other stuff i needed runs actinic with no problems actually faster than my desktop?

Perhaps you should have bought 2 laptops instead?
We used 2 laptops. Mostly because we transport them from home to office/shop and back again each day.
The PC gets booted up once in a while if the kids want to play..otherwise it's just gathering dust!
