looking for some software to find file "used by a website"

I've been asked to look at a "mess of directories and files" on a friends web site and try to pull out ONLY the files that are definitely required for his web site and then copy them to a new directory ready to wipe and rebuild his web pages.

Over time, no one has bothered to delete the files and pictures that are no longer in use and he's got a mish-mash

I've got httrack etc, but that can be prone to errors if not set up 100%

can anyone reccommend any progs that will do that job, or should I stick with httrack?

download the site as if you were ripping it, delete everything online then upload only those files you have locally from the rip.

or xenu, site spider. and compare the directory listing.
