Forum Traffic Levels

Being a bit bored I checked the alexa traffic data for the forum and its interesting to see how traffic increased steadily from 2003 until the begining of this year when it has fallen like a stone tp://info.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?p=TBChrome_T_t_40_L1&amzn_id=alexa65-tb-20&url=community.actinic.com/search.php?searchid=603085

Gotta be V8 related i would think, beta release perhaps. Plus there is always a hike up in the number of people wanting websites built at the start of the year. New year, new beginning etc.

G your probably right, alexa changed something 6 - 8 months ago, my band width has been going through the roof over the last 18 months yet my alexa traffic has gone down, mind you V8 seems to use more band width

I still like alexa though, just for personnal reasons

.True - I would never base any marketing moves on Alexa as it only records the people with the toolbar installed, so as Darren says you can have websites getting huge traffic but no ranking on Alexa because the majority of visitors dont have the toolbar.

For the forum though I think it does show a truer picture because most of the traffic will come from the same people rather than random searches.

It's my fault, i now have 3 new vista machines and i cant use the toolbar on any of them hence the ranking have dropped
