    Actinic Vs Wordpress SEO...WOW

    Hi Guys

been doing some research in the 'claims' that actinic is se friendly (I know it to be pretty good but wanted some hard evidence).

So I decided to launch two identical sites (into 2 unrelated domain dev areas with full bot access) using both Actinic and Wordpress.

The aim was to leave the sites alone and see what would happen 'out of the box'.

The results? After a period of 3 months, I homed in on 1 page for comparison.

Main keyphrases SE placements (3 selected - KWD 1.95% TO 2.95%)

Wordpress - 1 organic indexed (primary), ranked at 72 in the big G the other 2 on the selected page not sighted

Actinic - all 3 ranked, primary was sitting at Number 1 (out of 2 million results), the other 2 were on pages 1 (number 6 out of 450k), and page 2 (out of 375k).

    Indexed link count

    WP - 64
    Actinic - 746

Page title change: (changes displayed in results)

    WP 9 days
    Actinic 2 days

Now, not wanting to go too deep as this post could go on until xmas, my original results show a positive on this subject matter only. I have now created a different subject matter (far more competitive) and will observe.

To add to the mix, I have launched an identical content site today using OSC and will keep an eye on this performance.

As a sub note, the domains are more than 2 years old, so accelerated results are apparent compared to that of a new domain.

    not a fair test.

osc is dynamic, and so is wordpress The structure of the urls is crappy in a default install of wordpress.

though I do admint that ctinic is the clear winner.

it pwns other systems for OOTB SEO.

Fair comment, although the timescale allows for a similar performance ratio and applied weighting considerations to be taken into account.

However, to mix it up a bit, I have now added a static site alongside for direct comparison (weighting factors included)...

That's all very interesting. The same (internal) person who does Actinic's SEO also runs our online marketing course and also specifies how Actinic works out of the box. Just look on G UK for "ecommerce software" and "EPOS software" to see the results.

Incidentally, Darren, I would prefer that you don't mention the competition, even when it's in Actinic's favour. It wouldn't be right to just intervene when Actinic is rated second best.

Something that people might be interested in is that when we built Actinic Express, which has fully dynamic page generation, we tested it against standard desktop Actinic in G. We managed to get equally good results with both systems i.e. static and dynamic pages.

            Just for interests sake.

Snowcam has only been up for a week and I am already getting #1 ranking on one of my search terms and #5 on my main search term.

This against competitors that have been around for a few years already.

All I added were my meta's with a single product per section layout and bob's your uncle, I'm on page one for all my keywords.

            Fantastic OOTB SEO!

I know its not good to mention any competition, but Actinic came out on top.

Isnt it fair that its mentioned in this case?

I don't think it's wordpress that actinic are talking about as that's for bloggers.

                      I assume it's this bit:

I see we posted at the same time (near enough anyway).

Seeing as CB didn't like the mention the first time, I did think it best to obscure the offending remark. Nearest thing I could find to a 'bleep' was the
