    Photosynth

I've just come across this - quite amazing progression of imagery.
The shape of things to come?

First watch the blog video, then try out the demo.

Beautiful. So that's what Microsoft were up to when they should have been getting Vista right

This sort of graphical interface is the way things will head IMO. Look at Vista and iPhone so far and then merge that with Google Earth etc.

I particularly liked the way you could 'read' the newspaper.

            amazing stuff.

I like the way it encompasses existing content. It's definitely going to change the way visitors navigate around websites (and completely change the way we want our websites to look).

Here comes SEO 3.0 (?). Can you imagine trying to optimise a website so that it appears as the dominant contributor for one of these overviews / graphical network contructs?

(severely challenged by the terminology appropriate for discussing this stuff).

Microsoft are really pushing these new technologies and opening up the possibilities for new, more intuitive ways to interact with data and technology.

If you look at Microsoft Surface, combined with Microsoft Silverlight, Live Earth, Deepfish, Photosynth etc you can see the possibilities.

Personally I love the "hands on screen" navigation and UI's that are coming out (e.g. iPhone) Using fingers to zoom in, out and drag and drop is really intuitive........hmmm.......must remember to invest in a Screen Wipe company!

The challenge for online retailers will be making a decision as to whether there will be any ROI for adopting any of these technologies. There is never a 100% adoption of any new technology (some people still read books - those papery things!) so spreading resource across multiple technology channels will most likely not be an attractive or cost effective practice for many!

                  I'll keep my commandline thanks.

I cant think of a better way to waste memory than to have an abstract interface.

On the other hand, I do like its 'Minority Report' style. But apart from looking pretty and wowing people, i can safely say, i'v seen it all before. Microsoft are buying these technology companies up and gobbling their interesting tech.

                  Silverlight = Shockwave
Surface = Old MultiTouch Panel Tech reborn
Photosynth = 3d modelling from images.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Surface looks brilliant - so obvious - beta next year then?
Imagine the shopping experience - dragging the products around, dropping them into your basket, putting your phone on the 'surface' to pay.....

i almost forgot Deepfish which is blatantly a rip off of the opera zooming technology.

                            http://www.operamini.com/features/

but opera do it properly, and without any daft server side scripts.

Not any sort of personal attack towards anyone, lol, i'm just pointing out thet all these techs are stolen/bought out.
