Best not to mention competitors on the Actinic site or the Mods will pounce.

did worry about that I dont think Actinic have any thing to scare them

since 'IS' web solution is a bit flakey at present we were looking at using as an accounts only solution using a product like LINK to get orders in from Actinic for a year or so

I agree it is not that solid (especially for busy sites) ..... I would still XXXXX it out or they will do it for you.

Just to bring this back up,

We have now reached out 14500 customer limit in Quick books, cannot add any more customers and more annoying you cannot delete any.
Had a chat with sage today, they say line 50 is not really any good as we have 30+ new customers a day which is around 11,000 a year. They say line 200 which will cost around £20K

Don’t know what to do to be honest as we need to keep track of customers and what they have ordered and search by name or post code.

The way a Quick book says you should do it is have 1 account called “mail order” and keep changing the invoice address. This is unworkable as a Quick book does not record the name or address so impossible to match a invoice to a customer.

We've had similar thoughts (we're with TAS, but wanted to go to Sage for the integration).
It suddenly dawned on me (I'm a bit slow) that all the customer data we require is already there in Actinic, so we really only need to do a single daily invoice into the accounting software as 'Actinic Mail Order' or whatever.

Then I noticed it seems plenty of peeps on the forum already do this.
                Kind Regards

We have 30,000 plus on line 50 and hav'nt come to a stop yet, not sure how to delete old customers apart from one at a time

Can you start the accounts again at year end?

Not easy but can be done, you can only import itmes and not accounts and the way the vat is set up

                      Happy new year all

Right I have just gone for sage Sage 50 Accounts Professional 2010 with 4 users but not sure I have made the right decision?? and wasted £2,200

I know it will not work with V9 but I have looked on here and there are some posts that say ot will work with V10 can anyone confirm this.

Sage works on part number for the product reference as far as I can see so not sure how the link between Actinic and sage will work ?

In QuickBooks we don’t use part numbers for product ref it is mainly the product description like you see in Actinic, for me this is going to cause one big head ache to change them and then re-train the staff.

Not sure what to do to be honest as we have out grown Quick books and sage looks too much based around “accounting” rather than stock control and raising invoices for private customers “IE Joe public”

I guess what I am trying to say is, nobody likes change but I am not sure going from QB to sage is a change for the better ?

                        Sage line 50 Accounts Pro

We use Sage Line 50 Accounts Pro (2008) with Actinic V9 and Actinic Link. We import all orders (and customers) into Sage and process them there and keep our stock control on Sage. We have about 40,000 customers on Sage and about 2,000 products, and receive an average of 50 ish orders a day. Nobody at Sage has said that the software will not cope, in fact we were told that our number of transactions were neither small nor large, middling. However, Sage is not perfect and if you would like more detail we can provide. I haven't come across a better solution; if we had we would be using it.
