Effort made needs to equal current and future profit, in this case she needs to go whistle IMO. She'll get all of the details off you and then buy it off ebay.

There must be far better things to spend the time on, i'm sure there's hundreds of products to add or photograph, get on with the important stuff. However hard you try, communicating with someone who has no idea what a tape measure does, is pointless as she is really in need of far more help than you can provide.

To be honest it isn't really worth persuing this sale, the customer really needs to go and buy from a shop where she can see it.

if you tell her its all ok and it isn't she will haunt you with complaints.

Its a real headache dealing with someone's neurosis when you know they will be off to ebay to save a quid.

I once worked in a call centre for car insurance. My best one was:

"what if I have a crash and then vandals smash my windows? Do I have to pay 2 sets of excess?"

F**K knows and who cares? If your that anal to think of things like that your better off not getting out of bed. The woman was being really neurotic down the phone and had worked herself into a right frenzy.

I also had someone call up and spent about 10 minutes listening to him effin and blinding down the phone about random things. He was convinced we had satellites watching him leave his home.

The truth is there is are a lot of people with mental health issues out there. Those of us that deal with the public meet them almost daily.

I stick by a previous post where I want to put a sign on my home page:

On reflection have decided to ignore the last enquiry as life is too short to get too involved for £30 - only thing was if she is a new kitten owner then could come back for lots more - but think the hassle factor outweighs that!

I could give examples but as this is a public forum it'd be best if I dont although we have one particular customer who really is hard work, but hes now placed over twently orders with us.
