    The Maddest Chargeback ever ?

We have received a charge back for £30.45 due to an incorrect amount charged. We checked all our records to find that this was charged correctly.

I phoned the customer in Dallas, Texas who confirmed that we had indeed overcharged her. She stated that she had paid $30.45 but double that amount had been taken from her card, Can you see where this is going yet?

When I pointed out that she had ordered from the UK she was indeed aware of this but was not aware that the UK had its own currency

In short she still blames us because she says that our website was misleading and that we should have had a warning sign up saying that prices were not in US $.

Did I mention that I got her out of bed at 1am to speak to her
    Regards

ok..I can't think of anything "constructive" to say so I'll just and say "good for you" for the 1am wake up call.

reminds me of the American that successfully sued "winebago" (or someone like that) because the van crashed when he put it on cruise control and wondered off to the back to make a cup of tea - seems they (winebago) forgot to mention in the documents that "cruise control" was not "100% totally automatic" and that someone need to remain at the wheel at all times.

and the other American that successfully sued a major coffee outlet for "daring to sell her HOT coffee" - she spilt it down herself, got burnt and wondered why she wasn't told it was hot.

I remember that Winebago story, it's incredible really what they will try and also succeed at.

We have had one chargeback, but it was a really stupid one, we got a chargeback for being Mole End in Giggleswick, which apparently could not possibly have been a company or place, despite the fact that the customer clearly remembered the software they ordered from us. Grrrr. We did get our money back in the end and had the chargeback cleared but only after a lot of hassle and time.

I had a query why I'd charged someone for a very expensive sandwich - it was actually Sandwich, Kent
