Chris - there is a direct train link from birmingham new street station to the NEC - fast service runs several times an hour during the week.

I'd estimate £7-8 Chris, but like Ian says, trains go directly there and your best bet. Remember the airport, the NEC and the railway station are all in very close proximity. Just don't get mixed up and head for 'New Street' as you will end up 6 mile away in the town centre.

Thanks folks, No just a southerner living in the East who knows nothing about Birmingham

Basically just looked up the National Rail Enquires web site for trains from Yarmouth and they show a bus ride from Coleshill Parkway to Birmingham International, and I just dont like hanging around

Are you saying I should continue into Birminghan centre and get a train from their to the NEC?

Stay away from New Street station (town centre) unless that is the only way you can get a train into Birmingham International. You want a train directly into Birmingham International as the ideal solution. Given its location and size, i'd be surprised not to see trains going there direct. New Street is the town centre (6 miles away), Birmingham International is the train station for the airport, NEC etc. and where you want to get to.

              Thanks Lee

It looks like the cross country route only stops at stations to the north of Birmingham whilst the nec goes below the country route

so only options are to either go to this coleshill parkway and get the bus or go to the centre and get the train, timewise they both look the same

Probably be so bored, I be asleep anyway and end up in Liverpool
