All of the text drop down menus in firefox has dissapeared

just been shouted at to look at the missus's PC, complaining that ll the text based menus (File, edit, View History) have disappeared from her copy of FireFox 2.0.13, together with the address bar

normally, you'd go into tools / options and start snooping, but of course, the tools menu isn't there.
I've tried ALT-T to bring up the tools, but nothing.

I've tried right clicking on the icons, and restoring originals, nothing.

I've tried looking at my laptop to see how to restore them, but can't find anything.

anyone got any clues how to restore the top line of menus and the address bar.

Isn't it F11 or F12? Yes, F11 does it.

its definately 2.0.13 - its on auto-update and I remember the update coming down the line a week or so ago.
problem is, without the menu, I can't check the help->about us option.

most peculiar,
its as though a window has been opened that has the menus turned off, but thats become the default.

You are being given a function key to press, not a version number?

duhhh....
it was in "Kiosk mode" - F11 cured the problem,

I never gave it a thought because I still had web-developer (addin) still showing up as a series of text menus.

Boy, am I going to be dangerous when I eventually wake up.

This is usually accompanied with "what have you done to it now... you are always messing with stuff" in our household

quickly followed by "Well I didn't do it! It wasn't like that when I was on it!" and occasionally, when in creative mode, I get "It must be the weather" or "the cat must have knocked something!"
