    Domain Snatchback?

Anyone used or recommend one of these services.

A TLD for an interesting keyword expired a week or so ago and had been parked up for 3 years. I know that it may take another 60 days before its available on the general market but would love to pick it up.
    Thanks

I use 123-reg for all my Domain Registrations and used their "Domain Watcher" service to try and buy two domains on separate occasions and both times they failed to register them for me and someone else jumped in a registered them.

When I contacted 123-Reg, they said it was out of their control even though the domains were registered by some else upto three days after their expiry. Both domains were purchased by a Domain Reseller and luckily I managed to purchase one a a fairly low cost but the other wanted a premium price, so I declined.

Something fishy, or just bad luck

The domain in question has been with a reseller in the USA for a number of years and he has been trying to sell it to me and other for at least two of those.

The price it started at was crazy and the last email he still wanted £500 (3 weeks ago)

It has no pr or backlinks so it may just expire, I'll keep checking I guess
      Thanks

If it’s a .com it could be a lot longer than 60 days. In fact, whilst 60 days is meant to be the rule for .com's to become available again after suspension, the actual amount of time seems to be arbitrary. I've been watching one that has expired for over two years and still has been released back into the market.

.co.uk is much quicker, but again; don't take the 60 days rule as law. The best thing is to check each day manually in my opinion.

I think I'll just keep checking daily It's actually a .net and not really a big thing if we lose it but it would be nice to have.
          Thanks

Good luck then....there is something quite rewarding about getting a domain off somebody who has been needlessly squatting on it for years!

May not help with a .net, but may be helpful to somebody looking for a co.uk.

Enter the renewal date for the domain, and it predicts two drop dates for you.

Worked for me on the second date it recommended when I was after two domains, both available 7am that morning, lovely.. £5 each instead of $900 the previous owner wanted for them.

              Good luck !
