    Actinic trying to kill itself

    I ordered first thing this morning a extra user Key, got through to sales on second attempt told key would be sent

    Come 16:00 today tried ringing five times to chase up key got cut off each time with sales are busy line 220 no answer

    Whats the point of telling people about Actinic if they can't be bothered to answer their sales phones

    Chris i am still unsure what takes the time to produce you a key, considering your an existing user, bet the money has been taken though

    But i am unsure quite what is happening at actinic, extending support has been mentioned more than once yet it seems to still be a 9-5 operation (or 4 in your case) perhaps you need to dial 141 before there number chris they might have caller id

      To be fair they have just called me back, (forum works) and told me they send out keys between 17:00 and 17:30 each day, so my new girl has spent all day putting on her nail polish etc rather than learning actinic

      Why it takes so long I dont know or why they save them up

        What is the point in sending out a key at 9.00am when you then have 8 hours of additional support to cover the new key? Those guys are not all daft

          Maybe the keys are in the safe which is on a time lock, but I have just beaten the system with a key sent at 16:37

            That reminds me, I'm still waiting for our new V9 key after 6 weeks - damn it's 16.53 Have to wait until Monday to ask how it's coming along.

                I don't think i ever got my v9 key either - i opted to receive it with the 901 release.

                just as well i don't need it yet, but it would be nice to have received it when they said it would arrive rather than having to chase it up

                  Have a look in the cd case ours was there when they sent it out originally with V9.1

                    Same with us, and I think 901 was out some time ago. They suggested that we use the trial version in the meantime, but that has now expired and we can't even get into that now.

                      Have a look in the cd case ours was there when they sent it out originally with V9.1
                      i opted for no CD just a key and DD. To tight/smart (delete as appropriate) to waste £10 on a CD i'll never use

                        I've made two online enquiries to Actinic about their enterprise product but never heard a thing.

                        I gave them a telephone number and email address but nothing.

                        I've been a loyal user of actinic software now for nearly 8 years, I even used to be a shareholder in the good old days.

                        So I agree, actinic stop trying to kill yourself.

                          I'm thumbing through my book of excuses that will appear in this thread on Monday

                          1) We never anticipated the demand and are trying to catch up
                          2) The person the issues the keys is on holiday
                          3) We are ermmm not sure but we have put procedures in place so it wont happen again

                          Sorry as always i am ever the sceptic, anyone know how GC is coming along and has anyone received further information on the AP - not had that yet either

                              The reason why keys are sent out at a particular time is that Admin have a big variety of taks that they do each day, and it's a lot more efficient to do one type of task at a time.

                              I don't know why some of you have not received your v9 keys, they should have been sent at the latest by a week ago. I would suggest that you call the main switch board on 0845 129 4888 (local rate) and select Billing/Progress enquiries. There are lot's of possible explanations, including human error.

                              In the meantime, I've pointed the Admin manager at this thread.

                              I've referred the enquiry in Enterprise to the appropriate person.

                              Actinic Payments hasn't come out due to problems found in the pilot. The ones with the biggest impact are fixed in 9.0.2 and this, together with a new PSP installer for 8.5.3, will be out very shortly.
