    Background Image Size

Anyone know what is the maximum height of background image allowed in IE6 is? A very simple background image as a column container which is only 2bytes in file size but 10000px in height .. .this is fine .. increasing the size to 15000px results in IE6 completely ignoring the image. Firefox shows it correctly.

I know how to resolve (slice and diced and repeat-y a whole chunk) just one of those late night quandaries as never knew there was a size limit imposed.

Hi Jont just curious about one thing why the huge image size pixel wise?
Other than that I never new there was a limit, but 10,000 pixels....

It started off as a reasonable size as a background image that was not tiled to sit and form and border either side of the main content ... no problem .... found one section which had a lot of information and the image stopped as it was not repeated ... I tried the lazy way out knowing the file size would still be very small and tried extending the bottom half in photoshop (it was still open) rather than re-code the HTML and CSS ...... teach me to stick to the path of clean code and not be tempted by the short cuts
