New 'Find a Designer' service from gabrielcrowe

Here's news of a great new service to help people find Actinic Designers to work on their ecommerce projects, and to allow designers to bid for work.

I'll let Mr Crowe describe it for himself.

    --------8<----------------------------
    Find a freelance Actinic Designer

Create a free account at ActLance, and find a designer for your project!

ActLance is a place where you can post projects, or even full time jobs for a strong community of Actinic Designers to bid on. Posting your project costs only 2 pounds. After designers bid on your project, you only need to choose the one that suits you, and its showtime!

Get your work done faster, and with someone who knows how to use Actinic. Designers are rated on their experience on ActLance, as well as being encouraged to show their portfolio of works, so you'll know you're getting a good deal.

Save yourself loads of wasted time, fiddling with complicated templates or getting frustrated at Photoshop. Post a project on ActLance today!

Only you could pick that up mr malc.

Get signed up! we need designers and shop owners alike, to jump in and populate the site.

Dont worry about the size of your project either. Even if you wanted a quick logo design, or some stationary making and dont have enough time, just chuck it on there and get some results.

yes, i'll add that in right now.

              any specifics?

I just added simple 'Hosting' as a project type. Now people can sign in and request a host, and hosts can post their wares. If you are a host and someone factors in a host in their project, then you'll get an email.

I'd love to know peoples first impressions of the site and if anyone has any ideas.

Would you try to spread the word? Its about helping with the more complicated aspects of Actinic. to let busines owners get on with the business part and letting the designers do their thing.

So, can anyone see themselves using the site? can we get a first project on there?

                  nice feel about it

i use a similar site for freelancer work,
ill maybe post a project later

one thing Gabe can we not have one account
                  as project creator or provider?

you never know some of hte little people out there might be able to do some little jobs
Remembering the road to Actinic enlightenment is a long and sometimes painful one.
                  Current project:

                  cheaplingerie4u.co.uk

Sign up asks for you to agree to terms and conditions but I could not find them. Also what are the "Low Comission Charges"/

Thats a buglet. I'll fix that.

                      There are no comission charges.

the cost model was stripped out, and replaced with this:

                      - If you need to find someone to work on your Actinic project, posting the project will cost £2
                      - If you want your project to be a featured project, and get more attention, its £5
                      - If you post a full or part time job, it costs £5

                      Designers dont pay anything.

I'v posted a first paying project:
                      http://www.actlance.co.uk/project.php?id=5

Well, no. The site is split into two distinct login systems.

I'll try to re-code parts of it to allow that, at a later date, however.

If you want to design Actinic sites, ActLance will help you find customers. It's free to sign up, with no monthly costs and low commissions, so why not try it?

The above implies that there are commission charges???
