bad day at the office - getting worse

    oh boy.

Sister was going to work this morning, indicated right, slowed down, only to find a professional idiot on her right overtaking just as she was crossing the white line. He went off the road and into the ditch, and then complained that she was at fault.

later on, a young lad (20yr old friend of the family) was 3ft up the ladder - believe it or not, hoovering cobwebs from the walls of our new warehouse and the brother-in-law had his feet at the bottom of the ladder (because they're keen on H&S)

the lad shouted "just move the hoover across will you ?", brother-in-law took a step back from the ladder, put his hand on the vacuum, the ladder slipped, crash bang . . .

quick trip up the hospital, TWO broken wrists, plaster from the elbow to the knuckles on BOTH arms, now the poor lad has to find some VERY VERY good friends that will help him with his ablutions (if you know what I mean) - waiting to hear if one of the wrists needs pinning !
his mum and dads not very happy, seems he was "racing cars" this weekend, and he's got a job to hold his toothbrush, let alone the steering wheel.

we've been thinking, if we get the curve of the hoover pipe (you know the bit, up near the flexi tube) and put that over the knuckles and along the arm, we could cable tie the pipe to the cast ( we can tighten that up because its plaster) and we should be able to let him carry on hoovering tomorrow, - we've just got to have a set of snips handy, so we can untie him from the hoover if he needs to visit the toilet. Not sure who's going to hold his hand though

Bad bit about the wrists, he was "on the books officially" and we'll probably get a visit from the health and safety boys to make sure we're playing the game !

its still early but it's not going too well

Unlucky day for you ... you should just go home and go to bed - where hopefully it's nice and safe.

Why waste valuable time .. if it is a wet and dry vac get the spare hose and "wire him up"... he has already lost man-hours down the hospital. Slacker.
