I wish I hadn't read this thread first thing, I wasn't quite prepared for that photo ... nice to think about fords though, my first car was a metallic green ford escort - first thing that ever happened to it was that it got towed away from outside my house, second thing was that it broke down, every time it stopped, I had to open the bonnet and and mend it to make it go again, but it was my first car and to my mind it was a great car.

            Welcome Ian

dont be scared by this lot and ask any questions that you need clarification

however it is recommended that you carry an extensive search first through the manual, forum and the knowledge database.

my advice would be read the manual, open actinic on your pc and re-read the manual (as it will definately make more sense the second time), have a scan through the knowledge database as there are things in there that you would want to do and take it one step at a time

Actinic has a huge learning curve...

Ian - welcome to the mad mad world of Actinic - it can be a lovely place sometimes - though the nice warm feeling of a padded cell often helps!

I was a mere young lass when I joined the forum a few years ago - and now I'm old (very old according to Lee!) and getting greyer by the day and have just had my insanity certificate renewed.

My dad was the most anti ford man you could ever imagine, so without planning my first car was a MK2 Capri reg no. DRA 776T, my very own drat mobile, I hand painted the bottom half to spice it up, it looked as good as it went round corners in the wet (bloody awful). Then had a Cortina MK3 GT 2 door, then had a Escort followed shortly by an Orion, then paid £40 (well it was 1992 when we were in the last recession) for a knackered old MK4 Cortina, used 5ltrs of oil a month (no such thing as o zone worries then) and ended its life when the steering wheel came of going round a corner, scary! and have just brought myself a brand new KA as a run-around (my grown up car is a Land Rover, and they were owned by Ford for a while).

Wow, I've had some Fords, no wonder me and my dad didn't get on too well!!
