    IE8 and Analytics

Just been reading about IE8 and the privacy controls which can block external scripts .. google analytics for example which is remotely hosted. Apparently after N occurances of the script it is blocked. Potentially causing issues with the viewed site that is calling GA.

    Could be fun!!

I can see a few possible lawsuits on the horizon if the 'rules' are not relaxed or defaults changed. There'll probably be a release, an uproar, then a quick service pack to soften things out. I think that's the historical response.

      Actually, are you really surprised.

Google has/creates more information to the world than has ever been written.

      Probably.

There was talk of ga being added as a default exclusion a few months ago but I don't know if they are actually doing it or not.

Yes, I think the general commercial "good" scripts, such as GA are to be added as an exception as default.....or maybe MS will just bring out a version of Analytics themselves and bolt it into the browser
