    Domain name value

For those of you who know our main domain name what would you say was a far price for the .com version of the domain?

I know it's a bit of a how long is a piece of string question but would like to gauge opinions before I go back to them. Currently they are asking for $32,000, which, unsurprisingly, we will not be paying!

unless you are going to trade in the usa then I would max at a couple of hundred if I really wanted it

Have you covered the underscore and hyphen variations of your uk domains?

Hyphen has gone and the underscore I am not too concerned about but would quite like the .com domain just in case we decide to use it in the future.

I was quoted around 15K for a .com domain once (for one of my clients who has a fairly well know .co.uk domain). I started by offering $100, they then offered 12.5K, I offered $100, they offered 10K, I offered $100 ..... by this point I think they realised they would need to come down massively...and in the end we got it via escrow for $250. If they are just parking the domain and chancing their arm, chances are they will sell eventually. If they are actually using the domain.....then its a different ball game I guess.

I bought a domain on behalf of an employer whom I was developing a brand for, which they published on the packaging of the product and then let lapse. The domain cost them £1500 and I'm guessing they'll end up paying the same again to get it back

Turns out they paid not far off their offer for the domain in the first place so unsurprisingly are not willing to let it go for much less than that. Never mind, won't lose any sleep over it.
