    Courier complaints - here's a good one

    Complaint about delivery company

    Dear Rainbow Florist Supplies

I'm afraid I want to complain about the courier company UK Mail, that you use to deliver your orders.

So far they have failed to find my address twice - causing a week of delays and following a further telephone call to their distribution office at my expense I am still uncertain whether the package has been delivered or if they have managed to find my house.

Additionally the administrator who deals with dispatching orders & drivers is rude, disinterested, dismissive & quite unhelpful. I'm afraid that I am unlikely to use your service again simply because the courier company have been so woeful.

    Regards
This is a genuine email received tonight - but with no Order Reference (other than the customer's name) I haven't been bothered to investigate.

We don't use UKMail - we are CityLink customers (now what happened to that thread then?)

Not a courier issue so slightly off topic but equally frustrating.
I received a stamped, correctly addressed envelope in today's mail with absolutely nothing in it!

The envelope hadn't even been stuck down so I doubt there was ever anything in it. I'm sure at some point it will dawn on the sender that my company is not responding but until it does c'est la vie!

Keep the envelope. You might find that you're about to get a customer demanding a refund for the product he returned. Of course he'll have a certificate of posting to prove it.

Was the empty letter sent recorded?

I have heard of scams where an empty envelope is sent to the retailer and then a claim is made through paypal claiming that they have returned goods and not received a refund.

Paypal insist on proof that you have reurned the goods at which point the customer can provide a valid RM tracking number, the fact that the postage cost is too low doesn't always seem matter to Paypal.
I think this type of fraud is more common on ebay but could be tried with any internet retailer.

On the other hand it could be that someone has forgotten to put a cheque or letter inside before sealing the envelope.

Edit: Just realised you said the envelope hadn't even been stuck down, which is even stranger and probably not anyhting sinister.
