Dynamic lists concept: Taking navigation psychology too far.

    http://www.skateasylum.co.uk/playground/smartlist.htm

A concept list that deforms according to 'concepts' you feed it. Showing the shopper what they want to see, not what they don't.

...please be aware, riddled with weird bugs in IE6/7/8. Please usre firefox to view tech-demo.

Looks good in Opera, am I right in thinking this is a modification to the navigation code you provided earlier this year.

It does work with that code from the php nav, however, only in 'fully expanded' mode. This is becasue the hiding and showing is done in javascript, manipulating the DOM.

I'm still considering how to get Actinic to render the code from the PHP nav with the 'concepts' of the available groups of products woven in.

This nav is flat html, and is really only a concept. IF you wanted it, you'd have to hard code your nav structure at the moment. This will change as the code evolves, obviously.

                      another idea:
It would not be too hard to use brand names in the groupings and show a tree of brands. ...but that code is for another day.

It loads for me in IE7 but doesn't do anything.

I do get an 'errors on page' message. Something about object doesn't support this method in line 590 (or similar). WTF can't I highlight and copy the error message?

                          - I know, but I think that will all change for IE8. Compatibility isnt top on the menu, since this is only a concept.

I ahve changed the menu, so that it now uses mootools instead of prototype.

                              mootools is generally better imho.

The updated version supports varying levels of interest, based on how many times you click:

1 click = show me the major sections
                              2 click2 = show me more sections
