    Increase in US Sales

Has anyone noticed an increase in us sales, im not meaning just because its christmas but more with the exchange rate.

One of my range of products is avaliable in the US already but i have seen an increase in sales. Having done a little research i find that one seems to sell at around $235 in the us and i sell them for £120 + £40 delivery so the price difference is hardly anything really.

Just wondered if others can attribute the increase to the stronger $

We've always done well with the US. Some of the customers are a bit hyper re delivery time though.

I have one product that sells regularly to the US (it's country of origin).
They say it is cheaper to buy from me (including shipping) than to buy in the US

Seems like I've noticed a slight decrease in UK and European sales lately...don't know if its the exchange rate, slumping economy, time of year or combination of everything.

I think the British Pound is ~ 1.5 US dollars right now. This summer it was ~ 2:1! My ad costs for 911 and Porsche World (UK magazine we advertise in) have slowly been going down because of this so it "sort of" compensates for the slower sales. I would rather have the sales.

I've seen an increase in sales to places I had never previously sold - Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and we had an order to Russia yesterday.

                  Kirk,
The Euro / GBP exchange rate should be increasing your sales in Europe as your items sold in British Pounds are now cheaper.

Unfortunately the low value of the pound makes it very expensive to import stock for onward sale.

We're in the US. I think the Euro has gone from ~ 1.6 down to ~ 1.25 USD recently, so the decrease in purchasing power for the Euro was not as dramatic as the British Pound.

I hadn't noticed that you were based in the US and wrongly assumed you were UK based

No problem, Darren. I appreciate the input. Very understandable. Not too many of us on this forum.
