Vista is awesome, the same way that Britney Spears is. It looked pretty, and its gained some weight, but its very badly educated.
As I said, I appreciate people had and still have issues - I don't - and its an integral part of my workflow in a way that XP isn't nor ever could be. Once you have a settled hardware system and if you can take the time to learn it it is a very useful OS in my opinion.
Kev i to am happy with vista and have been using it, but when i say happy i mean it works well but it is sooooooo bloated i am confident windoz 7 will be an improvemnet on this.
Oh and im sure Gabe can give you many reasons as to why windows is bad.... remember he is a linux / mac lover these days and unfortunately this means from a professonal side of things you see the annoying quirks of vista.
I have many, and im a linux virgin, but what i do use i love the simple things like wget how easy is that and some cool things like "Yum" top name
OK having been messing with it, definitely seems to be better, having installed actinic and uploaded a site, took a while, actinic froze a few times but got it done.
BUT
I logged into the forum no problems, when i go view a post i get a blank thread, interesting its all fine using chrome, not windows 7 and ie8. Lets hope this will be fixed when the beats are done with
I think one of the problems MS has is that it is developing (and will deliver earlier) IE 8 so whatever the final outcome of IE8 is, that should be the one that goes into W7 (with patches or whatever). Do you have the same problem on Vista with IE8 beta? My beta version of W7 is not connected to the www so I can't confirm if I have the same problem or not....
Makes sense as the build of IE8 beta, and the one in w7 are diferent - plus of course, the w7 version has w7 to contend with. I'll try and get my test box connected to the web and see if I have the same issue Darren.

I've been running pre-beta 6801 on the media center for a while and it's rock solid and better than Vista SP1 already. I'm a Vista fan but 7 is looking very sweet indeed.
Trying to download the beta but it's stuck at 2% so I've left it on at the office.
If you want the look of windows 7 just install the uxtheme.dll patcher for your version of xp (service pack 2/service pack 3 have different patchers). and install a 3rd party visual style like this one:
