They must be hard up for news when a favicon makes the news. Personally I think the new favicon is rubbish.

I think its rubbish as well. For a while, I thought I'd got a virus on a work PC!

I had a problem a while back where a virus was changing all the favicons for all my bookmarks on the home pc. That's why I don't let the kids on my business laptop!

Its interesting that I didn't understand the new icon at all (along with most people, apparently), but my other half got it immediately.
BBC ran the article because its about Google, not favicons.
