If you're looking for personal use, some Tesco stores have Office 2007 Home & Student at about £49 inc VAT.......

Thanks Mark - looked at that but that version doesn't have Access included which we need.

Get BitTorrent -> Pirate Bay -> get Office Ultimate for free

Not that I have, but if you want to be naughty.

hmm, we frown upon bittorrent. its not good for you.

                i'd suggest openoffice.

                its 'base' package pwns.

Silly question probably, but you would trust Base for use with the Actinic Database (adding tables, report, queries etc)? I have no knowledge of it, but would be delighted if we could replace our Microsoft products with Openoffice for this purpose. Seems too good to be true.

not only do i trust it, but its all i use.

                        its a matter of taste.

oh, btw: dont use openoffice 3 on mac, its awful.

Thanks Gabe - we'll have a look at it. The Microsoft product has far more gadgets and features than we will ever use, and as long as Base opens, modifies and saves the Actinic database without blowing everything up we'll be happy........
