    Suspended domain

I am after a domain that has apparantly been suspended and have been checking it every day. It expired in December 2008.

Would anyone know how long do I have to wait for it to become available?

Typically it's 60 or 90 days, depending on the registrar.

What I would advise is that you find out the registrar, www.whois.sc will help you here.

This will show you who the domain is registered with. Most registrars will allow you to backorder a domain - backorder the domain (there is a non-refundable fee here, the fee obviously varies) with the same registrar to maximise your chances of landing the domain when it finally expires.

    Good luck!

If its a .co.uk domain then you can find out the exact date it will become available. .com or anthing else is a bit more hit and miss.

if the domain is not re registered then nominet will contact the owner 1st, they give them the option to renew direct or with the existing tag holder.

Sometimes its worth signing up for a registration company that will check it and register it as soon as it becomes avaliable. But theres no reason why you cant keep checking yourself

Just remembered the name of the company made infamous for snapping up every bloody domain going.

If it's a not-to-be-missed domain, the fee is well worth it as this company will catch it most of the time - http://www.pool.com

            Cheers,
