Bamboo... you have a graphic on your site with the text :

"Orders placed by 1.00pm Mon-Fri are sent the same day. Beat that if you can"

In your FAQ you have :

"If the item is in the store it is normally in stock. In the event you order an item that goes out of stock whilst you are submitting your order we wil [sic] e-mail you as soon as we have downloaded the order details. If your shipment will be delayed, we'll advise you of the delay within 24 hours."

... Luli is not always able to dispatch orders the same day ... may be worth validating the image text.

    Just a thought.

LOVE the 'disclaimer' in there, jont!
Couldn't bring yourself to quote without it?

Some people can take things too personally so always best to offer suggestions rather than as an "I know best"

              Muchas gracias Jont!
It always pays to have things looked at with a fresh pair of eyes, many thanks. The banner header is due to be changed, Valentines day is all but past, so I will amend the wording accordingly. I will also amend the typo in the FAQ.
The banner used to say 'processed the same day' which was far too vague IMO.

As you may have gathered all of my products on this site originate in China. This conjures up a Christmas present scenario every time I open a box because the Chinese are more concerned with supplying 100 widgets than ensuring that the widgets in the box are actually the colour/design/style etc you ordered!

However despite this lottery with every order it is possible to keep tight control of what you have on the shelf with systems & processes.
As you rightly say it is impossible to get a 100% accurate stock level on every item because stock is flowing in & out, hopefully.
What George actually said is "just in case you cannot find an item(s) or something" and my argument is should you have trouble 'finding something' then this position can definitely be improved with a stock control system.

But we could go on about this for millenia & neither of us would gain anything. Sadly the fact remains most small enterprises do not do enough to keep control of their stock.
Winging it can get you by for a long time but eventually it will let you down.

Aye - there is no single set of perfect words to cover all eventualities and for all customers - a case of tweaking what you have as issues arise to try and prevent them occurring again. I have a set of instructions on how to personalise a product and I am forever tweaking but I can guarantee someone will phone up. Everyone is different.

ps. you also have a hard-coded 17.5% VAT on that page as well (always easier to spot other peoples typos)

Can I hire you to come and train my boss on this?

Mocking is easy. Making positive changes to the way things have 'always been done' isn't.
Toyota in common with many massive companies is in difficulty but you should remember Toyota became the biggest car company in America & still has the best selling car in the world because they did things differently.
I'll wager they will be one of the surviving car companies and will be one of the first to return to profit.

Go read the book you will learn a lot, if you have an open mind.

Just heard a quote that some buffoon is forecasting 120 small companies will be going bust every day during the recession even though no-one knows how long the recession will last.

So stay as you are and hope that you avoid the inevitable thus relying on others or use the 'lull' to listen, learn & improve everything you possibly can to keep the cash coming in and put your business in the best possible position to benefit from the upswing whenever it arrives.
