No it's not spam - FREE 3 PAYG Modem for just £4.95 shipping until end of May, then £29.99.

I paid about £99 for mine about a year or so ago but I saw this (http://www.3dongle4free.co.uk/ ) on the moneysavingexpert.com email I got yesterday and have just ordered one for my wife.

According to moneysavingexpert.com the offer is is legit and is backed by 3. (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/pho...broadband#payg )

So if anyone's thinking of trying a broadband modem this may be a good opportunity.

I just tried to place an order. Is it me or is the checkout page where you are first asked to enter your credit card number not secure. I couldn't find any mention of https anywhere (or the padlock). Even right-clicked > properties on the form itself in case it was in a frame but still coouldn't find anything which suggested a secure connection. Can anyone comment on whether this is a safe site or not. I can't claim to be an expert.

That's quite correct and is mentioned on the moneysavingexpert site. The SSL cert is supposed to be in place today:

While we've been assured it is secure, the site's payment details page currently isn't appearing as such. They've promised the certificate will be up and running by 13 May, so if the lack of visible security worries you it's best to wait a day before signing up.

We brought one last month from CarPhone wharehouse for £29.95,

Got stung on the PAYG though, paid them £20 for PAYG but did not then apply it to a specific package, so got charged at £1.00 per meg for use which lasted about a day before running out, if I had noticed I would still have had about £19.99 left.

Works with Draytek router as emergency broadband, but have not set it up yet

When i went through the website, it timed out and gave me an error message saying the sender email was rejected due to too many people using the website.

so i thought i'd wait to see if the email withthe coupon code would arrive anyway - it hasn't yet - an hour later.

but part of the sign up process was to create an acct which happened
