The 2 kids are like caged lions in their garden, i reckon they've played on every blade of grass 3 times. Every toy or ball you could imagine has been out. I think we will be facing lockdown with a friend having to collect the vaccine and post it thru the letterbox, not pass it over by hand. Glad i learnt sign language, at least i can speak through the window .

The numbers must be rubbish - which is what got my attention to the headline at first. Surely they must mean 100,000 per month.

They do seem to be saying 100,000 per day, but it appears to be based on the premise of 'new cases are doubling every week'. You can't really project that kind of growth forever. Especially as the schools are about to close for two months.

When you double something repeatedly, the new number is always just above the sum of all the previous numbers (depending on where you start).

So by then the total who've had it would be 1.4 Million.

LOL well 100k a day gives us 3 million people a month, that's if the new infectees are not doing any new infections themselves. If we start september with 100k people a day affected, it will be all over at the end of the month with 3 weeks of school time in that month also IMO.

Gordon Brown's version of the 5 day week:

"As you know, I want to encourage growth and stability in the UK economy and to invest heavily in those areas of social welfare that most need it.

2. There's not enough work to go around. So everybody will have to work less.
3. We need a way to raise more money. Promised not to raise taxes.
4. Everybody's working a day less now, so we'll make them work one day a week for the government instead. Companies can pay their salary for that day directly to us.

I went to the new parents evening for my daughters secondary school yesterday and the school had had their first comfirmed swine flue case. They are not closing though, apparently it's too common no for isolation to make much difference.

yep - no more testing and treating people that may have been incontact and no more closing schools. If you have symptons contact your doctor, for a voucher to collect your tablets from a pharmacist or distribution center
