Is it just my garden being invaded or is there an abundance of monster slugs and snails this year?

Rabbits - Don't mention these. Aparrantly, there is a mutated strain of myxomotosis about that is making rabbits very hungry - Hungry rabbits will go further to find food and we have seen them around our nursery for the first time (rifle is at the ready!)
Slugs - The best thing for these is to put a mixture of beer, sugar and water in cups and bury these cups so the top of the cup is level with the soil surface. You will need about 1 cup for every 2 metres sq of garden. The slugs are attracted to the smell, fall in and die a happy death. We don't have any slug trouble when we do this and we have thousands of tasty plants that are suceptable to be eaten. Alternatively, go out when it is dark with a torch and pick them off your plants.
