Just about to post the same. Not a wise move knowing the vindictive people on the forum.

I would email sales@postpack.co.uk .. they sell packaging and cardboard boxes at PostPack but they may also be interested in receiving your emails.

              Hi Guys

Thought we would post a quick message to clarify the position on our recent mailshot.

Postpack is a reputable business with a sucessful Actinic ecommerce site which receives over 28k visitors per month. We specialise in low volume and high volume packaging (and carry a wide range of packaging solutions particularly suitable for ecommerce & mail order customers). We thus have many repeat & long term customers who have Actinic sites and feel that other Actinic site operators may be interested in our wares.

We are very familiar with and adhere closely to the appropriate conditions of the Data Protection Act and only address email marketing campaigns to businesses and/or organisations who are listed as such in business directories and/or can be found through a Google search. The regulations stipulate that we should state clearly who we are and give a clear and easy facility to unsubscribe. We adhere rigidly to these regulations and any mailing lists are specifically compared against a master unsubscribe list to ensure that none of our mailings ever reach an email address which has specifically unsubscribed.

We would like to make it clear that we have never bought or aquired a mailing list from Actinic or any other source than a) our own database of customers, b) Google searches of businesses operating on the internet.

We have already received much positive interest from our mailshot to Actinic customers and thus far have only received one complaint who sent a link to this thread. If anyone can point out either how we are breaking the rules of the Data Protection Act or how we are being unethical, please feel free to call us and I will be happy to take on their comments and discuss.

I do feel this would be more professional than subversibe actions which are certainly not ethical and may indeed be illegal.

              Thanks & regards
              Robert Turner

I have had one for each Actinic site I own including one personally addressed to the wrong company.

I think you would be better not mentioning "Actinic" in your prospecting. It was not the email itself but the fact I felt targeted which irritated myself due to my choice of e-commerce software.

We have just received two emails from Postpack this afternoon and my immediate reaction was to look on the Forum to see if anything had been said.

So as I say two emails, one to the email address which is all over our site. But the other one curiously was not an advertised address! It was the address setup for my copy order emails. So how did they get that from a google search?!

                      Cheers

Out of interest how does the laws of the land regarding emails sent to businesses stand when a business has multiple websites and each receives an email? Is this classed as multiple emails to the same company even though to different email addresses?

Same here - I have 13 active sites - to say I'm a little bit hacked off would be the understatement of the afternoon.

I take it they're just searching for 'acatalog'?

The time spent doing Google searches for "acatalog" sure as hell can't be worth the return. We too received an email today.
