Are you intrested in selling your company

Strange one today, never had any enquiries before since starting in 2003 and then today two companies who really said nothing but asked if I was interesting in selling and would I be intrested in a free valuation

Got me thinking (steady now, no abuse) were they sounding me out for someone or is it a way for them to get information they can sell on

I have had lots of calls like this over some time.
After stringing them on it became apparent that they were just after personal details and had no information on the said businesses at all.

We get these calls on a weekly basis asking if we are interested in selling the company or selling shares. The boss tells 'em where to go, chancers trying to pick up a bargain during a recession.

Hi. We have had at least one fax per day from the same company for about a month now either its an automatic mail out, or the just don't learn. It's a waste of paper for a start.

We had an old fax machine before without the facility to block numbers - so whenever we got targetted with crap, I could contact our line provider and get these numbers blocked. With the new digital fax machine, I just block every number that sends spam, saves loads of paper and toner.

I rarely use fax so just use a free efax service with an 0871 number. Spammers can't afford the dialling fees and I just print off faxes from my PC.

Saves money, space and eliminates fax spam. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Can you recommend any company which offers this service?

              Cheers

I can recommend Popfax as a way of sending/receiving faxes via email, don't know if they do premium numbers off the top of my head.

Receiving faxes on my iPhone is great geek fun

It looks like no-one offers these anymore. At one time there were lots of offers around. Oxonera http://www.oxonera.com/ seem to do one with an 0844 number but I've never heard of them before.

I originally signed up with Pumaone 6-7 years ago. efax bought them and continued the service but it now seems they don't offer new sign-ups to the free service which is a shame as it's a really good service. The sender just sends the fax to the 0871 number I was given and it pops into my mailbox straight away.

Occasionally they try to get me to upgrade to their paid service but I don't see the point. It costs me nothing and it eliminates fax spam. They make a few pennies off the fax calls, but probably not enough to pay for the phone number.

i use popfax as well. They also gave me an 0208.. number, i prefer it to be honest. Search for the discount coupon online before you signed up though save yourself a couple of quid.
