    Staples & e-commerce

Went into Staples today for a new keyboard and had a good look around as you do. Noticed they had two e-commerce software packages on sale at under £30.00. No idea if they are any good or not, but say they are equal to V3 they must still be worrying to actinic and others that the prices have dropped so far, after all we all need profit to keep going and at under £30 that does not leave much

How fast can they grow their products, consider Open office before you answer! it can do most of Microsoft office 2007

Not sure on their exact software but they are typically rebranded OS solutions on offer. Recall seeing a similar offering from Tesco. You just would not touch it with an off kipper if serious about selling online.

OS (or very cheap) is fine to a point but as your company grows the knowledge that there is a company available to sort things out and the confidence in knowing the product works - which is why Open Office will never truly replace Word et al in an office environment.

ps - many thanks for the embroidered t-shirts which arrived yesterday - Jonty Junior was wearing the smallest one with pride seeing as the company was named after him

Agree with Jont, the cheapo ecommerce tend not to include any form of order management, reporting etc.

great for a toe in the water, but no good for volume sales esp if you have to produce tax/vat accts.

Bikster is a slightly unusual name for a child
