Forum Search (Google) giving SSL results with certificate errors

This seems to be happening more and more now.

Using the forum search (google version) is giving lots of results on https which when clicked are giving a certificate error.

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.
    for results such as https://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=30624

    Can it be fixed please.

I've not seen this - have you got an example search phrase to try out Mike?

Example search: "blockif price drop down"

        http://www.google.co.uk/search?as_q=...ghts=&safe=off

results 2, 6, 7, 8 and 10 display this problem (clearly Google might change results around at any time).

I wonder too, afaik Community has never run under https.

Ive added a rewrite from https to http, however as .htaccess rewites can only work after a connection is made the browser still tries to validate the ssl cert (and fails as there isnt a valid one).

Before I install an ssl cert (hammer meet peanut) does anyone have any other suggestions?

As long as you're using 301 permanent redirect google will gradually drop the old links and use the new ones instead.

It might take a few weeks or so for this to happen but this has gone on for longer than this already and it really only affects a few users. (and we know what's happening anyway).

So I would say there's no need to do anything else.

I see there's a cert on the root for actinic.co.uk, maybe there's a rogue https link through from there to actinic.com.

I've added an SSL cert, that and the 301 redirect from https to http should both resolve the issue now and allow Google to drop the https links over time
