    Number of Transactions per month

Despite my disinterest in the orders tab I need to find out the number of transactions (any status) for various months. Is there an inbuilt report which gives me a transaction count>

Operations/report selection/sales/transactions will give it too your set dates Use preview to avoid printing. or use sales analysis and the order number is given.

Hi Nigel - that was my first port of call but it only summarises the products by order - I am looking for the number of transactions made between specific dates eg 500 sales not 750 products sold. Or am I missing something?

I'm sure one of the reports we use does. I'd guess (not at computer right now) at either sales analysis or tax summary?

          Is the easiest way:

number of sales between A and B (any status) = order number at B - order number at A

That could be pretty inaccurate if you get a lot of uncompleted or duplicated PSP pending orders though.

Very true. But it is quick and easy.

I pull the orders into a spreadsheet and run a macro to generate the monthly sales reports. It isn't really written to be generally usable otherwise I'd post it up here.

                Thanks folks.

I could write a report in Crystal but wondered if there was anything out of the box that could do this considering my lack of use of the orders tab.

Maybe Jan could add this to her utility as it would be useful for quick management reporting - sales per period, pending, declined, completed etc.

Well, you could get your 'number of orders figure' in One Stop by filtering by date and checking all orders as it gives you the number of orders checked at the bottom.

Gold Star to PartyPete .... when you preview the Sales Analysis report it shows in the top of the popup window (not in the report itself)
