        It will depend on the contract terms.
        Maybe he'll schedule stage payments to be due as work progresses in future projects.

          well done the developer! They may even get their money as taking down a site is pretty radical.
          Soooo glad we're operating a strictly payment-before-we-ship business now, even for our trade customers.
          Had one business go bust due to late and non-payers and lost a few thousand a few years ago when a trade customer went bust. Of course, they still had 'my' stock, which they then went on to sell under a new name.
          Which is when I discovered simply stating that all goods remain the property of ...... etc isn't good enough - there has to be a specific watertight signed contract to have a hope of regaining possession of any goods supplied and not paid for.
          My inner voice says simply "if you need credit, go to a bank", although of course business isn't like that is it?
