Satellite Broadband

Has anyone got any experience of satellite broadband?

Any recommendations?

Some friends of mine used to run an internet cafe in Nigeria - they used broadband internet. IIRC the speed was only about 1 or 2Mb (broadband?) and suffered from latencey effects which was affected by the weather. The equipment and ISP charges were also expensive. That said it was the only way to get internet in that remote location and it did turn a good profit.

I also worked for Exxon in the past in remote locations where the only contact with the outside world was via satellite, money of course was much less of an issue and the internet connection thay had was fast (in relative terms) at about 5Mb.
